People with type A blood are more likely to be infected by the Coronavirus: Chinese Study
According to a study in China on coronavirus, people with type -A blood are more likely to be infected with coronavirus and those with type -O blood are more likely to be resistant to coronavirus.
Chinese researchers carried out the study in 2 hospitals in Wuhan and one in Shenzhen. People with coronavirus were examined and compared with more than 3,694 healthy people using blood samples of 2,173 patients using the SARS-CoV-2 test. Of the 1,775 patients surveyed at Wuhan Jinping Hospital, 37.75% had type-A blood and 9.10% had type-O blood.
People with type-A blood were more likely to be infected by the coronavirus, while those with type-0 blood were less affected. Of the 206 people who died of the virus, 41.26% had A-blood and 25% had an O-blood. Tianjin researcher, Cao Ying Dai said that the people with type A blood need not panic, and those with O blood are not safe. He urged all government officials to follow the guidelines.
