IPL likely to be held behind closed doors i.e without fans in the stadium to avoid the crowd

The BCCI has said that the Indian Premier League(IPL) could be held behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is said that the matches will be held in empty stadiums.

The 13th season of IPL is due to start on March 29th in Mumbai where Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will be seen playing their first match.

The Sports Ministry of India has advised BCCi to avoid large gatherings in sports events. The order from the Sports Ministry said, "Ensure that no public gathering takes place in any sporting event. In the event the sporting event cannot be avoided, the same could be done without allowing the gathering of people, including spectators."


The government of India has suspended all visas for foreigners to enter India to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country. Totally 73 people have been affected due to corona in India till now.


The Maharastra government is already cautious of organizing the home games of Mumbai Indians and it is taking necessary actions.
