Why around 30,000 people are being monitored closely in India due to coronavirus outbreak?

The deadly corona which has hit 29 people in India has caused panic all over the country. Ministers and MPs were seen wearing masks today at the Parliament. Health Minister Harshavardhan told parliament today, that 28, 529 people are under surveillance due to coronavirus infection.

Also, he said a control center has been set up to coordinate corona monitoring tasks and shared its help numbers (011 - 23978046).

These 28,529 people were some way or the other connected to the corona infected victims either stayed in the same room or traveled with them in the same vehicle.

Tuticorin Lok Sabha member Kanimozhi, Speaking in Parliament, said that the Virology Lab in India has been established only in Pune and that such labs should be opened in different parts of the country.

The Asian Security Council meeting which is to be held in Delhi on March 12 and 13 has been postponed due to fears of coronavirus.

Health Minister of Tamilnadu, Vijayabaskar has asked the people not to worry about the infection since only 2% are likely to die of the virus. Half cooked fishes and meats are banned in Lucknow. Masks have been distributed in many states to prevent the spread of the virus. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar has said that the Indians in Iran will be brought back to India after their medical examinations.
