In Gujarat, 68 college girls were asked to remove their undergarments to check whether they were on periods
A terrifying incident has happened in Gujarat where 68 girls were forced to remove their undergarments and prove that they were not menstruating.
This happened after the hostel warden complained to the principal that the girls have broken their religious disciplines by entering the kitchen during their periods.
No police complaint has been lodged against the college in this matter. The national commission for women has taken notice of the incident and said that a team will be formed to investigate the matter. The commission has asked the girls to come out of their fears and narrate about what has happened. The commission has also asked the college to give a proper explanation for the incident.
This college located in Bhuj, Gujarat was founded in 2012 and has nearly 1500 students. The college offers various courses like BCom, BSc, and BA. The college hostel holds about 68 girls who hail from remote villages.
The incident happened after the hostel wardens complained to the principal of the college that girls who were on their periods mingled with other students, ventured into the hostel's kitchen and also went inside the temple located inside the college premises.
The girls said that they were asked to come out of their classes, and were taken to the principal's room. There the principal insulted and abused them with uncivil words.
