Hollywood actor Tom Hanks took to Twitter to announce that he and his wife Rita Wilson test positive for coronavirus. The couple who are currently in Australia, tweeted today morning about their infection.
Tom Hanks said, "We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive." Both Hanks and his wife are of 63 years of age and had symptoms like cold, body pain and fever.
The actor also wrote that the Medical officials have protocols that must be followed and they will be under tests and be isolated as long as the public health and safety require them to do so.
The deadly coronavirus which has infected almost 1,25,000 people all over the world, has killed more than 4000. Tom Hanks becomes the first Hollywood star to publicly state that he has the virus.
Tom Hank's son Chet Hanks posted a video on Instagram in which he said, "I just got off the phone with them. They both are fine. They're not even that sick. They're not worried about it. They're not tripping but they're going through the necessary health precautions obviously. I don't think it's anything to be too worried about. I appreciate everyone's concern and well-wishers. But I think it's all going to be alright."
Warner bros which are producing the film about the life of Elvis Presley in which Tom Hanks is playing the lead has said, "We have been made aware that a company member from our Elvis feature film, which is currently in pre-production in The Gold Coast, Australia, has tested positive for COVID-19. We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual. The health and safety of our company members are always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world."
