With the spread of coronavirus, BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly said there will be no change in the IPL matches which is starting on March 29 and all efforts are being made to run the series smoothly.
He said, "IPL matches will strengthen the defense against coronavirus." According to official data from the Ministry of Health, there have been 31 confirmed coronavirus cases in India so far.
In that statement, a senior official of the BCCI said the board will strictly follow the government-recommended precautions. He said players, owners, airline crews, hotels, television broadcasting teams and everyone involved in the matches will properly follow the precautions.
The Board has advised players not to shake hands with fans and take pictures with objects they do not own.
Various sports competitions in the world have been suspended or postponed. The Tokyo Olympics which should commence at the end of this year will be canceled if the Corona outbreak is not controlled.
In the first match of the 2020 IPL, the CSK team will meet the current champion Mumbai Indians on March 29th at the Wankhede Stadium.
