A patient who arrived from Malaysia died on Friday who was under suspicion of coronavirus.
The 36-year old patient is a native of Payyanur in Kannur district. He had arrived from Malaysia at Nedumabassery International Airport on Thursday. District Medical Officer (DMO) said that the result of the first sample which was sent turned negative. He said that they have sent the second sample and waiting for the report.
It is found that the patient had severe Pneumonia infection and was unable to breathe properly. He was also suffering from high diabetic levels.
Health Minister Shailaja has said that they are not sure whether the death is due to coronavirus infection or not. She said that they have sent the samples for testing and few samples have been tested negative. A health officer said that additional body samples have been sent and they can confirm only after the results. His samples were sent to the Alappuzha Virology lab. The Ernakulam district has taken all precautionary measures required to handle any medical emergency situation.
