Peng, a 29-year-old doctor who was highlighted in the Chinese state media previously for postponing his wedding to treat coronavirus patients died yesterday due to coronavirus infection.
He was admitted to the hospital on the 25th of January. Reports say that his condition worsened by January 30. He was then sent to the Jinyintan hospital in Wuhan for an emergency. He died yesterday at 9.50 pm according to a statement from the hospital.
The deadly coronavirus has killed more than 2,200 people in China and has infected a total of 74,685 people. There have been 1,109 new cases of corona infection which is way more when compared to the 394 cases the day before.
The virus has spread to Chinese prison and 500 prisoners have been confirmed with the infection.
Today, the Hubei province has revised its number of new cases in the province's prison system. The Officials of the prison did not report when the infections took place but said there were 271 cases in total. Among them, 230 cases were in Women's prison. The head of the women’s prison has been dismissed for not informing about the virus infection at the right time.
